Weather Forecast

000 FXUS66 KSEW 090459 AFDSEW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Seattle WA 859 PM PST Sun Dec 8 2019 .SYNOPSIS...Western Washington will remain dry into Tuesday as an upper level ridge builds across the Pacific Northwest. The next system will move through on Tuesday afternoon and evening, with an wet and unsettled pattern expected for the second half of the week. && .SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...Scattered light showers that bubbled up from about Seattle south earlier today have faded on radar in the last hour or two. Expect dry weather for the rest of tonight into the first part of Tuesday as an upper ridge builds in from the west. Low clouds tonight and Monday morning should scatter later Monday. A front will move into the area on Tuesday. It`s looking pretty weak but should be enough to bring a few hours of light rain to most areas - starting in the morning at the coast and then afternoon for the interior. There should be another dry period behind the front later Tuesday night and Wednesday as a short wave upper ridge crosses the area. Temperatures will continue to run slightly above normal through the period. .LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...Previous discussion...A period of wet and unsettled weather is in store for the second half of the week as a series of systems moves inland across the region. However, deterministic models and ensembles do hint at a few breaks in the precipitation in the long term, most noticeably on Saturday as a weak upper level ridge temporarily builds back into the area. Temperatures in the extended timeframe will mostly be in the mid 40s to low 50s, with overnight lows in the upper 30s to lower 40s. 14 && .AVIATION...An upper ridge will move over the area tonight ...
