946 FXUS66 KSEW 100520 AFDSEW Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Seattle WA 920 PM PST Mon Dec 9 2019 .SYNOPSIS...Low clouds remained over most of the lowlands this afternoon and will persist into the evening hours. A weak front will move through Western Washington Tuesday afternoon and evening. Stronger weather systems will give Western Washington wet and breezy weather Wednesday night through Friday. && .SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY/...Low stratus and areas of fog remain overnight across the interior lowlands and around the Sound, with not much change for these locations expected through Tuesday morning. Variable mid and high levels clouds may spread overhead tonight ahead of a frontal system that remains offshore tonight. Clouds increase more significantly on Tuesday as the front pushes closer to the region. The previously mentioned front will move across the region Tuesday afternoon and evening with areas of light rain turning to showers and ending Wednesday morning. A stronger frontal system will reach the area later in the day on Wednesday through Thursday with periods of rain and breezy weather at times. .LONG TERM /FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY/...The wet weather should continue into Friday and then Western Washington will probably be on the cool showery side of the westerlies. Some ridging is possible for Sunday and Monday, but the details are all over the map and the ridge might not be strong enough to keep weather systems from reaching the area by Monday. && AVIATION...A moist and stable air mass remains in place this evening and tonight. With only light flow in the lower levels tonight, see little reason for much change in flight conditions. Low stratus and fog will persist across much of region overnight, with widespread IFR or worse conditions likely to continue around the Sound and in the interior lowlands. Increasing ...
